Swami the Magazine – Bad Robot

Greetings and welcome to another edition of Swami the Magazine. This is the part of the season where zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Oh, I’m sorry I fell asleep. Yeah, it’s not exactly brimming with non-stop great matchups, but it is early enough to start panicking for some teams (here’s looking at you Austin, Texas!) so that’s at least something. This week we have another marquee matchup in the SEC with Johnny “The Villain” Manziel against his highest profile victim, the Alabama Crimson Tide. Should be some good semi-clean fun in College Station. But before we get to that, let’s get to the theme for this week’s picks.Johnny

I am a nerd and have been a fan of J.J. Abrams’ work starting with Alias (can I get some red matter anyone?!) and have been a fan of a whole lot of his projects since. Now that he is at the helm of the two greatest science fiction franchises (Star Trek & Star Wars…just in case you thought I meant Battlefield Earth) of all time, I thought that it would be a nice way to honor him, the week that Star Trek: Into Darkness hit store shelves, to pick some of the key characters from the Star Wars and Star Trek franchises through the years and assign them to each of the games. Sadly, Data and R2D2 did not make the cut (though they are close to the same character, aren’t they?!) but plenty of your favorites did. So without any further delay, here are The Picks!

So now you know what will happen! Until next week… The Swami!

  1. I wonder if the Okie State hostesses will be at the hotel before the game helping the Lamar football players relax?
